Jer 32:27 Behold, I am Jehovah, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?
When we consider the character of God we come to understand that we serve a God for whom nothing is to hard. For Him nothing is impossible. He is the one that created and made the whole universe. He is the mighty one.
In the verses above we find Jeremiah perplexed with having been made the owner of land and at the same time he knows that the land will be taken by the Chaldeans. What is then the use of having become the owner of land?
Well, the Lord helps him to understand that a remnant will return at a later time and Jeremiah will then own the land.
These things help him to understand that there is indeed a use for being the owner of land.
By faith he understands these principles. Jeremiah is at rest when he hears these words from God. He can rest because he placed his faith in a living God. A living God, God who is still alive today.
Christians live by faith. Christians believe in the promises of God, not in the things they can see with their eyes, not in the things that they can touch, they believe in the things that they cannot touch.
2Co 5:6 Being therefore always of good courage, and knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord
2Co 5:7 (for we walk by faith, not by sight);
2Co 5:8 we are of good courage, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord.
Christians are faced with similair issues in their lives.
Christians are going through hard times, hard issues. Christians find themselves in the same place as Jeremiah, the circumstances will differ but the element remains the same. Stuck between the pressures of life and the unseen future. Some of us will find ourselves in a bad marriage, some of us go through sickness, some of us go through shattered dreams, some of us go through times of deep grief. We all have our own story to tell. But take courage. God is alive!!!
When Jeremiah would have looked with his eyes and would hear with his ears there would be little hope. But he served a living God, who was far greater then the Chaldeans.
When we consider verses 17- 25 we see that Jeremiah gives many reasons to believe that God would turn evil into good and that He was able to do so.
He made his mind wonder back to the old days. He put into his memory all the good things that God had done, and it brought him to rest. (2 Cor. 10: 5)
We are also confirmed in Ephesians 3: 20, 21
Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Eph 3:21 unto him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus unto all generations for ever and ever. Amen.
Understanding “God is able” brings a greater respect for and appreciation of the provisions He has made for us.
God can do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we can ask or imagine.
Jeremiah could look at the future with great anticipation because of the great and wonderful promises of God.
When he looked with his own eyes and listen with his own ears he would get down.
However, he looked with the eyes of faith and heard with the ears of faith and he overcame.
And so can we, we all find ourselves in deep distress at times. Broken dreams, a shattered relationship, health-issues, financial problems etc. But God is able.
There is nothing impossible or too hard for our God
Job 42:1 Then Job answered Jehovah, and said,
Job 42:2 I know that thou canst do all things, And that no purpose of thine can be restrained.

a. To hold back or keep in check; control: couldn't restrain the tears.
b. To hold (a person) back; prevent: restrained them from going.
2. To deprive of freedom or liberty.
3. To limit or restrict.
God is the one who is all powerful. He is the one that works according to His own counsel.
And whatever He does cannot be restrained. Whatever He does, no one can change.
Psa 2:4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
Psa 2:5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
Psa 2:6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
In Davids day, David went to God and wanted to know why all the kings and nations were standing up against him. He was afraid and went to God.
God replied that He laughed about the plans of mankind. He was in control and not mankind. So mankind could stand up to God, but God would do as He had planned to do. Man wanted to take David off the throne, but God would not allow that for He had made David king and nobody or nothing could change that.
God laughed about all of these things.
So, we read in Rom. 8 that nothing when God is for us, no one can be against us. When He stands on our side, no one can change what He wants to accomplish in our lives.
The Christian, for whom these things are true, can live a life of such peace and hope. For in all things the Christian will believe that God will provide.

The world of God is such a different world. In 2 Cor. 5: 17- 19, we find the words that all things have become new.
Do we realize how much have become new? When we become a new creature in Christ, all things are going to change, not just the fact that our sins are forgiven, but we are being restored to our true identity in Christ.
So we have come into a state of forgivess, we are brought into a state of having a relationship with God. When we come into Christ we become an adopted child of God.
When a child is adopted, the child is getting so much more then just a room to sleep. He is getting a true father and mother who is going to look after him. He is getting food and shelter every-day, he is going to school to learn, he is getting
God is able to speak the world into existence from nothing.
The same Word that spoke them into existence released the waters in the foundations of the deep and opened the windows of heaven and covered the planet with water.
The same Word gathered them together again and holds them in store.
God can cause a very old barren woman to conceive and have a child.
God is able to do marvelous miracles.
When we look at all these words we come to understand that we serve a mighty God.
We do not only serve Him, we also know that He is the one that made promises.
Mat 6:25 Therefore I say unto you, be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the food, and the body than the raiment?
1Pe 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time;
1Pe 5:7 casting all your anxiety upon him, because he careth for you.

The Lord can make strong the weak and make rich the poor.
God is able to take the man that it would seem impossible to save and save him.
God is able to take a poor insignificant people and make them a power for good throughout the world.
He can provide whatever resources or means they need in order to accomplish His work.
God is able to make the weak brother stand.
God is able to graft back in that which was cut off.
God is able to save man entirely, that is, to the end. He is able to keep him from falling and to present him faultless at the judgment.
God is able to deliver men from tremendous peril and trial.
And He is able to succor and comfort them in the midst of these trials.
God raised Christ from the dead. He is the first-fruit.
Among all the things that God is able to do, the most marvelous and significant for us is the resurrection from the dead.
The life of the believer is molded and directed by the conviction that God is able to raise the dead.
God will call forth the dead from the graves and they will be raised and changed into immortal, incorruptible beings.
In all these verses and thoughts we see that we serve a mighty God.
We started out with the story of Jeremiah. Jeremiah had to buy a piece of land while he knew that the nation of Israel would be taken captive. However with his eyes of faith he learned that God had something bigger in mind.
Reader, take courage in whatever situation you find yourself in. God is doing a work in your life, and please, do stand amazed. Do not go against Him, do not become bitter (Hebr. 12: 15) but give yourself over into His hands. Hands that are bigger and mightier then our hands.
Hands that are bigger and mightier then our lives. He is the creator and sustainer of His creation.
You are His new creation and He will not leave what His hands has started. Rest in His promises and be at rest in the Lord.
